Why did I join Seams To Help?
I can't sew, but there were plenty of ways I could be useful, where I could actually make a difference. In a time of turmoil & uncertainty, the tasks were one small thing I could control.
I couldn't fix the world, but I could help those who were trying to help me, and those who could have been me if I were in their shoes. Instead of feeling completely helpless, it allowed me to accomplish something good. In helping others, I wound up helping myself.
In the process, I met some amazing, giving, lovely people. Together, we didn't seem so alone in quarantine. We couldn't see each other's smiles from a distance under our masks, but we could feel them!
